5 reasons your site needs exit intent technology
Did you know that more than 70% of website visitors will leave your site without ever coming back? Make sure your website isn’t suffering that same result by adding exit intent technology to your site!
Exit intent technology essentially presents a form or pop-up to your guest as they either back out of your site or move their mouse toward the “X” on their tab and encourages them to stay on your site, finish their purchase, or sign up for future communications from your brand.
Why is exit intent technology a positive part of your website? We’ve outlined the top five reasons you should be using it!
1. Turn shopping cart abandonment into conversions
If guests are exiting out of the site or booking engine, offering a small incentive or discount for finishing their booking right then and there could be all it takes to seal the deal.
2. Recommend other products or promotions
Sometimes guests abandon their booking because the product offering isn’t exactly what they’re looking for or they can’t justify the price. You could have a pop-up display a special package or let them know about a sale or special offer you’re running to encourage them to continue looking at your property.
3. Build subscribers
A popular pop-up builder, OptinMonster, has seen average increases of 200 – 600% in email subscribers when using an email sign up form as a pop-up instead of burying the form in the footer or header of the site.
4. Contest entry or engage on social media
Another option for exit intent pop-ups is to encourage visitors to engage with your brand on your social channels or let them know you’re running a contest on Facebook or Instagram.
5. Test ad copy
Finally, you could run A/B tests with your pop-ups to gain insight into what copy drives action from your visitors and use those insights to write better ads or email campaigns.
