Beginning on April 20, 2010, Google changed their Google Local Business Center to Google Places
What is new on Google Places?
Google Places now has additional features that will be beneficial for businesses. Some of the new features are listed below.
- Tags: for $25 a month in select cities, businesses can make their listing stand out with tags. These tags are a separate marker under your listing that highlights important aspects of your business. You can showcase coupons, photos and more.
- Business Photo Shoot: you can apply for FREE for Google to come take photos of your business.
- Customized QR Codes: QR codes can be placed on business cards or other marketing materials that will allow people to scan the codes into their phone to land on the mobile version of the Google Places page for that business. Here they can find out more about the business, mark them as a favorite or give a review.
- Real Time Updates: you can now make instant updates to your Google listing. Take advantage of this easy way to promote specials in the coupon section.
