Significant improvement with “Book by Type Mode”

Book by Type Mode

You might have noticed some changes on your Occupancy Map in the last couple of weeks as we rolled out a series of upgrades to improve the performance and usability of this central aspect of rezStream Cloud.

Something you may not have noticed is a new Occupancy Map display mode called “Book by Type”. In Book by Type mode, the Occupancy Map will transform from showing all units individually to showing an expandable list of Unit Types (or Rate Plans).

Book by Type mode is perfect for anyone that has groups of rooms/units that follow the same pricing structure and does not necessarily wish to commit a specific room/unit at the time of booking. Many properties already organize their online booking engines to accommodate reservations by unit type, and now they have the ability to do the same on the Occupancy Map.  This upgrade also simplifies interactions and improves the performance of loading and displaying the Occupancy Map.

The animated screenshot below illustrates Book by Type mode. More details on how to set it up and how it works can be found in our Knowledge Base!

In addition to the new Book by Type Mode feature, with this latest release you will notice:

  1. A speedier/more responsive Occupancy Map.
  2. Removal of the “Group Mode” or “Multi-Select Mode” option on the Occupancy Map. The toggle is no longer required. When you make one selection, you will see your full quoting options in the right-hand panel. If you make additional selections, the right-hand panel will seamlessly switch to the multi-select mode and show all your selections to quickly make group reservations. And in previous releases, we updated the quote editing capabilities of multi-select mode so you can fully customize the quote before making the booking.
  3. Faster and more consistent loading and expanding/collapsing of Resource rows.
  4. A currency symbol within the available cells on the Occupancy Map for clarity.
  5. We addressed a number of minor bugs and issues related to display, scrolling, and interactions with the Occupancy Map.
